Rebecca's Recommendations - September 29, 2006

29 September 2006

By Rebecca Liggero

Those of you who are familiar with my past newsletters know that I am a big Bodog and Calvin Ayre fan. Why? As controversial as Bodog's marketing strategies may be, they are innovative, original, and very successful. They have a trustworthy, industry leading product that entertains thousands and thousands of people. Also, I can't help but mention that every single person I have met and spent time with at Bodog, Calvin Ayre included, has treated me like a million dollars. I love them all. However, there are some people that seriously disagree with me. For example, a Vancouver Sun reporter just released a very negative article all about- you'll never guess- Calvin Ayre. In my opinion this article was a huge success- a success for Bodog and Calvin as everyone is talking about it. Does it change anyone's opinion? Probably not. As I stated on the Gambling 911 forum, "He (Calvin) is just trying to run a business. Everyone knows who he is, don't they? So what if he has been rumored to have slept with over 1,000 women...I still love the guy". And I do! Everyone has skeletons in their closet (except for me of course), so leave him alone! Actually, writing articles of this nature simply make him more famous. At least the reporter didn't tell Calvin that he should have plastic surgery (in capital letters). But anyway. Lets move on.

I would like to mention two online gaming groups this week for a very special reason- I will be seeing my contacts from both groups over the next week in Boston! Imagine that. I hope they don't get arrested (kidding). Throughout this weekend I will be attending the Boston Nemo Music Festival with some folks from Bingo Hall, Slots Village and Winward Casino. I'm not exactly sure what's in store, but I do know that VIP passes, live bands, and very late nights are on the agenda. To give you some background on these online gaming sites, Bingo Hall is one of the largest bingo sites in existence and Winward Casino has been in business since 1998! Bingo Hall offers $5 free upon sign up, a 100% sign up bonus on your first deposit and up to a 150% bonus on all other deposits. If you are interested in a special offer for Casino City visitors, sign up with Winward Casino and receive $10 free in addition to claiming a 100% first deposit match bonus up to $500 free. Enjoy these sites, and if you have any troubles just let me know- I'll kick my contact in the shin when I see him this weekend.

Ok, so I get one day to recover (Monday) and then my main contact and very good friend from The Palace Group will be coming to visit me for three days in Boston. If you remember correctly, I stayed with the same girl when I was in London this past January- we both met up with the Golden Palace guys for a wild night out with Dennis Rodman. Not sure if I can match that night here. Yikes. Anyway, The Palace Group represents four top notch casinos, Mummy's Gold Casino, Piggs Online Casino, Spin Palace and Ruby Fortune. Mummy's Gold is currently running a very generous promotion that will be ending early next week, so hurry up and take advantage of the "One Hour of Free Play" promo before it ends! Here's how it works- if you sign up with Mummy's you will receive $500 (no deposit required) to apply towards 60 minutes of play. Use the $500 to make as much money as possible, and if you lose the money after 60 minutes, you can still claim the regular welcome bonus of $25 free. If you would rather cut to the chase, try out Piggs Online Casino and receive the fat $400 welcome bonus. Also, please don't forget about our old favorites Spin Palace and Ruby Fortune- Spin Palace offers a 300% match slots bonus up to $150 free and Ruby Fortune offers a 400% bonus up to $200 free. I hate to say it, but if you have any problems with The Palace Group casinos I will not kick my contact in the shin- I simply love her too much. Rebecca

Rebecca Liggero

Rebecca Liggero, a native of Wellesley, Massachusetts, has always loved meeting new people, building relationships, and traveling the world – perfect qualities for someone who, since early 2005, has won many friends and influenced countless people in the worldwide online gaming community.

After graduating from Bates College with a degree in psychology, Rebecca spent four years in Washington, DC, working in relationship management, dreaming all the while about someday making it big in online gaming. After turning down an opportunity to live in New Zealand, she moved back to Boston and signed on as Senior Account Manager for Casino City – the beginning of a dream come true!

Rebecca’s work on behalf of Casino City (and later for the GPWA as well) took her to trade shows and conferences everywhere – Amsterdam, Barcelona, Costa Rica, Montreal, London, Las Vegas, Macau and many other ports of call – and along the way she began chronicling her incredible around-the-clock adventures in a wildly entertaining and industry-savvy weekly column that quickly became – and still remains – must reading for everyone who is anyone in online gaming. Following almost three years with the Casino City team, Rebecca spent a few months at Everest Affiliates where she was the Brand Manager of the affiliate program. While working on “the other side,” she realized that she truly missed her weekly column and the affiliate side of the business and decided to return to the Casino City family.

One and a half years later, Rebecca resigned from Casino City and joined industry icon Calvin Ayre to serve as the Bodog Global Brand Ambassador and the head on-site reporter for the online gambling industry tablog, CalvinAyre.com. In her new capacity, Rebecca continues to travel the world, and when asked where she is based, her response is usually "on an airplane."
